Modeling Immortality in Immersive Virtual Reality
Our grantee Mel Slater (University of Barcelona) has published a study in PLOS One, showing that virtual mortality and near-death experience after a prolonged exposure in a shared virtual reality may lead to positive life-attitude changes. You can read the study here. Here also is a 35-minute documentary that Mel and his team made as part of their research.
Biological Immortality: The Hydra
Our grantee Daniel Martinez recently appeared on Liquid Science with world-famous rapper GZA to share his research on the hydra, a freshwater animal that does not appear to die of old age, or indeed to age at all! Martinez's segment begins at 11:22. Click on the link on the left to view.
